Daily Living Support

Daily Living Support

Daily life is built from small things — a shower in the morning, a tidy kitchen, a meal that is ready when you need it. For most people, these things happen without a second thought. For many NDIS participants, they represent real daily challenges that, without the right support, can drain energy, create safety risks, and quietly erode quality of life.

Benity Care’s daily living support services are designed to address those challenges directly. We provide practical, respectful, NDIS-funded assistance with personal care and household tasks — the everyday supports that help participants maintain their health, their home, and their independence. Our approach is simple: we are here to help you live your life the way you want to, with as much or as little support as you need.

What Is Daily Living Support?

Daily living support refers to the hands-on assistance participants need to manage the practical tasks of everyday life. Under the NDIS, these supports are funded primarily under Core Supports — Assistance with Daily Life, one of the most flexible and widely used funding categories in the scheme.

Daily living supports are not about taking over a participant’s life — they are about filling the specific gaps that disability creates. The goal is always to enable greater independence, safety, and wellbeing, whether that means completing tasks a participant cannot do themselves, supporting a participant to do more independently over time, or simply ensuring the everyday foundations of a healthy life are reliably in place.

WHY CHOOSE US

Our Daily Living Support Services

Benity Care provides two core daily living support services:

Personal Care

Respectful, consistent assistance with daily hygiene and grooming routines — including showering, oral care, hair care, dressing, continence management, and skin care — delivered with dignity and genuine attentiveness to each participant's preferences and goals.

Household Tasks Support

Practical domestic assistance to help participants maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable home — including cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, bed making, and general home organisation, delivered reliably and on your schedule.

Who Daily Living Support Is For

Daily living support is for NDIS participants whose disability affects their ability to manage aspects of their personal care or household independently and safely. This spans a wide range of disabilities and life circumstances — physical disability affecting mobility or fine motor control, chronic fatigue or pain that makes physical tasks demanding, cognitive or intellectual disability that affects sequencing and organisation, mental health conditions that impact motivation or executive function, and acquired or progressive conditions that have changed what a person can manage on their own.

Daily living support is relevant at every life stage — from young people building independence skills, to working-age adults managing active lives alongside disability, to older participants whose support needs have grown over time. Benity Care tailors the type, frequency, and approach of daily living support to fit each participant’s unique situation.

Our Approach

Benity Care’s approach to daily living support is built on four things: reliability, respect, consistency, and genuine care.

Reliability means our workers show up when they are scheduled, complete what is needed, and communicate proactively if anything changes. For participants who plan their days around their support schedule, reliability is not a nice-to-have — it is essential.

Respect means we treat every participant’s home, body, and preferences as their own. We follow each person’s preferences carefully, ask before assuming, and never impose our own standards on someone else’s space or routine.

Consistency means we invest in long-term worker matching — so participants build trusted relationships with familiar faces rather than adjusting to new people constantly. Consistency makes daily living support feel less like a service and more like genuine human connection.

Genuine care means our workers are interested in the people they support. They notice changes, check in on wellbeing, and approach their role with the warmth and attentiveness that transforms adequate support into excellent support.

Building Independence — Not Dependence

One of the NDIS’s core goals is to help participants build capacity and independence over time. Benity Care’s daily living support is designed with that goal in mind. Our workers do not simply do things for participants — they support participants in doing things for themselves, wherever that is a realistic and meaningful goal.

This might look like prompting the steps of a morning routine rather than performing them, supporting a participant to manage their own laundry with adapted techniques and equipment, or gradually reducing assistance in areas where confidence and capability are growing. Every participant’s independence goals are documented in their support plan and actively worked toward.

For participants whose disability means full assistance will always be needed, the goal shifts from independence to quality — ensuring that daily living support feels genuinely caring, is delivered consistently by familiar workers, and leaves participants feeling respected and well looked after every single time.

Why Choose Benity Care for Daily Living Support?

Benity Care’s daily living support services are trusted by participants and families across Melbourne because we get the fundamentals right. We show up reliably. We treat every participant with genuine respect. We match workers carefully and maintain consistency over time. And when something needs to change — a preference, a schedule, a worker — we respond promptly and make it right.

Our support workers are thoroughly screened, trained in person-centred support, safe manual handling, and infection control, and supervised regularly. We take worker quality seriously because we know that the quality of a participant’s daily support shapes the quality of their daily life.

We are also flexible. Daily living needs change — plans are reviewed, circumstances shift, goals evolve. Benity Care adjusts with you, adding or reducing support as needed and ensuring your plan always reflects where you are, not just where you started.
