Your NDIS plan contains real potential — funding that could connect you with the right supports, open doors to new opportunities, and help you live more independently. But a plan sitting in a folder is not doing much for anyone. Support coordination is the service that brings your NDIS plan to life.
At Benity Care, our support coordinators work directly alongside participants and families to help them understand their plans, connect with quality providers, and build a support network that genuinely reflects their goals. We take on the complexity so you can focus on what matters most — your life.
Support coordination is an NDIS-funded service that sits within the Capacity Building section of most NDIS plans. It is designed to help participants understand and implement their plan — and, over time, to become more confident in directing their own supports.
A support coordinator helps you work out which parts of your plan fund which types of support, identify and select suitable providers, establish service agreements, manage provider relationships, and prepare for NDIS plan reviews. They are also there when things go wrong — resolving provider issues, addressing gaps in support, and advocating for participants when the system does not respond as it should.
There are two levels of support coordination: standard support coordination and specialist support coordination. The latter is for participants with more complex needs — such as those with multiple providers, significant behavioural support requirements, or involvement in the criminal justice or mental health system — and is delivered by coordinators with a higher level of expertise.

Support coordination is most valuable for participants who are new to the NDIS and finding the system unfamiliar, those with complex support needs involving multiple providers, people whose current supports are not working as well as they should, and participants approaching a plan review who want to ensure their next plan is better aligned with their real needs.
It is also important for families and carers who are managing the administrative demands of an NDIS plan alongside their caring responsibilities. A skilled support coordinator takes significant burden off families, freeing them to focus on the relationship rather than the paperwork.
Benity Care’s support coordination model is built on three principles: transparency, advocacy, and capacity building. We are transparent about what your plan includes, how it can be used, and how decisions are made. We advocate persistently for your interests — with the NDIA, with providers, and within the broader service system. And we work deliberately to build your own confidence in navigating the NDIS, so that you feel increasingly in control over time.
Our coordinators are NDIS specialists, not generalists. They maintain current knowledge of the scheme’s rules, pricing, and processes so that every piece of advice they give you is accurate and up to date. They are also locally connected, with strong relationships across Melbourne’s provider network — which means faster connections, fewer delays, and better options for participants.
Benity Care’s support coordinators are known for their responsiveness, depth of knowledge, and genuine commitment to participant outcomes. When you work with a Benity Care coordinator, you will have consistent access to someone who knows your situation well and responds when you need them — not just at scheduled check-ins.
We also believe in honest coordination. That means telling you when a provider is not right for you, explaining why we recommend one option over another, and flagging concerns proactively rather than waiting for problems to escalate. You will always know where your plan stands and what your coordinator is doing on your behalf.
